Introducing Our HR Intern, Lindsay

We have been very busy here at Scarlet Management Group over the past few weeks expanding our team as we gain new clients and plan for an office expansion. In the midst of all of our organized chaos, we would like to welcome the newest member of our Human Resources team, Lindsay! Lindsay will be joining us for the summer as an intern so that she can learn the ins and outs of the marketing industry and get some hands on experience.

Lindsay is attending Ohio State University right here in Columbus and she is double majoring in both Communications and Marketing, and she is expected to graduate in May of 2015. She was looking for the perfect place to take what she has learned in the classroom and apply it to real life when she found one of our ads on Monster.com. After taking a look at our website and our Facebook page she became enamored with our fun and upbeat atmosphere and quickly realized that Scarlet Management Group was exactly what she was looking for.

Everyone in the office has done an excellent job of making Lindsay feel at home during her first week with us. She is doing a fantastic job so far, and we are very excited to see what she can accomplish in the time that she is here!

Welcome to the team Lindsay!

Getting Ready for Some Fun in the Sun

After a long, bitterly cold winter it seems as though the warm weather may finally be here to stay in Columbus, and we couldn’t be more excited about it! We may have been getting a little bit of cabin fever stuck having our weekly Office Nights inside, so we have been searching relentlessly for something to do that will bring us outside in the fresh air.
Our Director, Rob, just recently came across a great way to celebrate the warmer weather- a fun and laid back race called the Hit and Run 5K. The race will take place on Saturday, May 24, at 9 a.m., and the race consists of a battlefield of inflatable obstacles that promise to make this 5K the most entertaining that we have ever participated in.

Check out their website below to see pictures from all of their events as well as more details on the race. Anyone interested in participating with us should contact Rob for more details so he can get an idea of how big of a group we will have. They also have different wave times, so this will help us get everyone registered for the same time.

Even if you won’t be running, we would still love to see everyone out there! Stay tuned as well because some hilarious pictures are sure to follow this event.

Announcing Another Exciting Contest- Miami 2014!

Last week we announced here on our blog that our client Direct Energy was running a contest for our sales reps for the chance to win a trip to Las Vegas in September. Well now we are announcing yet another exciting tip, our 2nd Annual Top Performers Retreat!

While the Las Vegas contest is for Sales Reps only, this is a chance for our HR staff and Administrators to get into the competitive spirit as well and earn an awesome prize- an all-inclusive trip to Miami in August!

The contest is running April 20th through July 20th and sales reps and HR staff alike have standards that must be met in order to be invited on this trip. The reward however, promises to be worth all of the hard work! Last year’s Top Performers Retreat took place in Chicago and included tickets to a Chicago Cubs game as well as a beautiful sunset dinner cruise. The dates of the trip as well as the itinerary have not been announced yet, but it is definitely going to be even bigger and better than last year!

Our Director, Rob Hill, was very excited when he announced the contest, saying “Once you get to go on a vacation like this- where you are pampered and everything is paid for- you never want to go on vacation any other way again.”

With the contest deadlines for both trips coming up quickly, the entire office is incredibly excited, and everyone is hoping to be invited on this Miami trip. We will be announcing updates as well as the results when the contest concludes on our blog as well as our Facebook account, so stay tuned!

Scarlet Management Group Announces Las Vegas Contest

We are very excited to officially announce a new and exciting contest for our sales reps, courtesy of our current client, Direct Energy.
The contest, running from April 1st, 2014, to July 31st 2014, is called “Vegas Aces” and the winners of the contest will be taken on a 3-day, 2-night trip to Las Vegas, Nevada in September 2014. Though the itinerary has not yet been announced, it is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience.

Sales reps are eligible for the trip based on the amount of sales they do within the given time frame. Their cancellation rate, no-sale percentage, and quality of customer experience will also be considered. However, this trip is invitation-only, so meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not necessarily guarantee an invitation from Direct Energy.
With about 39.2 million visitors a year, Las Vegas is the 2nd most popular tourist destination in the United States. It is filled with hundreds of attractions, from casinos and restaurants to state-of-the art stage shows and there is definitely something for everyone to do.

The atmosphere in the office has been turned up a notch as the sales reps compete to see who will be invited on this once in a lifetime trip. They have been egging each other on to see who can finish each day with the most sales, and constantly competing to break each other’s records.  Excitement is the only word to describe the feeling that everyone has been having.
Once July rolls around and the winners of the contest have been determined, we will be announcing the names of the lucky few here on our blog, as well as our social media sites. So stay tuned to be find out who in the office will be packing their bags for Vegas!

Scarlet Management Group Participates in Strong at Heart 5K

We are excited to announce that we will be participating in the Strong at Heart 5K run/walk this weekend on Saturday, February 8th, 2014! As soon as we heard about this 5K in early January we knew it was something we had to do. Several of our staff members within our office have been focused on changing their lifestyles to incorporate healthier eating and exercise habits and felt that this 5K would be the perfect test to their fitness.

The Strong at Heart 5K route takes participants through the streets of the Easton Town Center, which is right in our backyard.  The race is put on by Greenswell and the Ross Heart Hospital to raise awareness for women’s heart health, and proceeds from the race will be donated to Ohio State’s Ross Heart Hospital and Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute. Participants are encouraged to wear red to show their support for the cause.  In addition, KDB, which is one of our favorite and most frequented locations for our weekly office night is hosting a brunch after the race.

In addition to their fitness awareness, our team decided this race would be a great cause to support for other, more personal reasons.

“I have a history of heart disease in my family,” Rob Hill, our Director, said. “It just makes sense for me to support the cause.”

Several other members of our sales and marketing team have stepped up to the plate as well, and as Saturday gets closer the buzz about it grows! Participants have received their race gear, which includes a T-Shirt, water bottle and wrist band, all colored red. Of course there is some smack talk as everyone wonders who will be the first to cross the finish line, but we are excited to participate in such a great event all the same.

Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter accounts after the race for pictures and race results!

Scarlet Management Group Gives Back

The holiday season is traditionally a time for people to give back to those who are less fortunate. People band together to provide food, shelter, clothes and even toys for those who are in need. We wanted to take part in that tradition and get into the holiday spirit with our own community service efforts.

As an organization that sincerely enjoys giving back to our awesome community, we decided to step up our efforts this season to meet the needs of the less fortunate in the Columbus area. We made the decision to collect new, unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots organization, and immediately went to work. The entire staff pitched in and our collection quickly grew. As Christmas neared, our Director, Rob Hill and Administrators Sam Lambert and Anna Sennett made a stop at a local Five Below store to stock up on small gifts; Hot Wheels cars, Webkinz and Pillow Pets were among their top choices. After they had a considerable amount collected they took the toys to a local fire station to drop them off.

“I love doing things for the kids,” Sam said. “Christmas is a really special time to be a kid and it’s great to know more kids out there are able to have present s to open on Christmas morning because of us.”

In addition to the Toys for Tots collection, we also helped spread holiday cheer at our local Boys and Girls Club. We currently spend an afternoon one Tuesday of every month at the Boys and Girls Club, but this month our client Direct Energy brought in boxes full of decorations, lights, ornaments and small gifts to help decorate their facility. Our team spent several hours stringing lights over doorways, hanging wreaths and garland and adding ornaments and candy canes to their Christmas tree. Knowing that the kids who visit the Boys and Girls Club would have a brighter Christmas because of our efforts was a great experience.

We are thrilled to have the resources to be able to give back to our community that we call home, and we hope to continue to be able to help even more people as we grow and expand.

Scarlet Management Group Recognizes Their Vets

Veteran’s Day, November 11th of each year, is a day to honor the brave men and women who have served our country, and thank them for their bravery. In honor of this national holiday, we wanted to put the spotlight on two of our very own team members who have served in the Armed Forces.

Brittany Luther was in the Marine Corps for two years. She was always interested in the armed forces and was in ROTC in school. Wanting to be a part of what she calls the “baddest branch” of the military, she made the decision to join the Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Pendelton in California. As a Food Service Specialist and Administrator she learned the benefits of being part of a team and sharpened her leadership skills, which she continues to use today.

One of the newest members of our growing team is Austin Morgan who just graduated Basic Training for the National Guard. He felt it would be a great way to gain new experiences, as well as a stepping stone to a higher education. As a Calvary Scout he learned the value of a hard day’s work and excellent leadership skills. In the short time he has been with us he has already begun to demonstrate and apply these skills, and we are excited to watch him continue to grow.

These two proud members of our Armed Forces demonstrate their dedication and hard work every day and we are proud to have them as a part of our company. Thanks Brittany and Austin!
